What an awesome FOX 47 Singing Sensation CONCERT!
Amber Hofschulte of Rochester was crowned winner Thursday, July 23rd before a packed house at the North Iowa Fair! 98.7 Kiss Country and 103.7 the Fox presented the FOX 47 Singing Sensation CONCERT. Thirteen talented individuals performed in front of a live audience for a chance to win cash and prizes totally $1,000! See the "Winners" tab for video of concert.
Amber Hofschulte sang “Broken Wing” by Martina McBride. She's a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic in the Department of Urology. She's getting married on August 8th. Amber is well-known in the area having performed at the Eagles Cancer Telethon the last 14 years.
Two runner-ups were named: Chris Phalen of Clear Lake, Iowa. Chris is a junior at the University of Northern Iowa studying music and history to become a teacher. Chris performed with a back-up band to “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley. The other runner-up was Kali Ziegler, a sophomore at Mason City High School. Kali sang “All That Jazz” by Catherine Zeta Jones.
It's easy! Simply upload a video of yourself singing a cappella! It doesn't have to be long - 30-seconds up to a minute in length is fine. There's NO AGE LIMIT! What does that mean? There's no age limit so YOU can enter. We want the best and brightest from the Rochester, Austin, Albert Lea, Winona and Mason City area to enter. A FOX 47 committee will select and notify the top finalists on Wednesday, July 15th. If you're one of them you will perform LIVE in CONCERT at the fair in Mason City, Iowa on Thursday, July 23rd.
